Filming wraps on Avengers: Doomsday

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, filming for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday has concluded, though the script is still undergoing revisions and additional scenes will be added. Several crew members, including the Russo brothers—returning to direct another Avengers film—have confirmed the end of filming on social media.
The second phase of filming for this star-studded project is scheduled to begin in January 2026 under strict security measures to prevent story leaks. In the meantime, Marvel may add more cast members to the film or even remove some. Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, who previously worked on Avengers: Endgame, are writing the screenplay for Doomsday.
It was previously announced that Robert Downey Jr. will play Doctor Doom, Chris Hemsworth will return as Thor, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Letitia Wright as Shuri, and Winston Duke as M’Baku, among others.
Rebecca Romijn, who played Mystique in the X-Men films, previously told The Hollywood Reporter that the writers of Doomsday were “still writing the script,” and therefore she wasn’t sure whether filming had actually wrapped.
Avengers: Doomsday is slated for release on December 18, 2026.
